Her Colors Changed

She started out as a white rose.
Pure as snow.
For some, it was the simple sparkle in her eyes
And the simple smile she gave
That made every day

Worthwhile..
It was her innocence that made every day
Worthwhile..

As time passed.
Her colors changed..
From white, to red.
At a fast rate she went from
Pure to passionate.

They saw the way she walked.
The way she talked.
They were fond of her, you could say.

She felt like she was in control.
She felt confident.
But, It’s her confidence that sent
Her straight to hell.

Things were okay for a while,
She smiled,
As her colors changed
From red to pink.
From feeling passionate, to feeling happiness.
For the first time in a while, she was happy.

She learned respect for herself.
And for others.
She felt like herself for the first time in a while..
She could truly laugh.
Could truly smile.

Until she fell into the trap of Satan himself.
Her colors changed again.
Back to red.
Back to being passionate.
Curse her for going back to her old ways.
Curse her for living how she did in the old days.
Every rose petal that swam
inside her veins, turned to black.

Who says that’s the end?

Who says she can’t mend?

Curse all who never believed in her.
Thank all who killed her.
If it weren’t for you, and your stupid mistakes
She wouldn’t be who she is today.

She’s a wild daisy now.
Resilient, and hard to kill.
Nothing will bring her down..
Not even you..

Earthquake Within

There goes her heart.
Accelerating
Into a broken state..
She’s on the highway to hell..
It’s a result of having everything ripped away.

She feels it.
Day after day.
It’s like a constant earthquake within.
Is this the price she has to pay
For living in sin?

Three O’clock rolls by..
She falls on her knees and cries..
“Bless me Father, for I have sinned..”

The sun shines down
Onto her pretty little face
She was filled with grace..

She goes out and faces the world.
She’s hoping God
Will give back the one thing
He took away.

Midnight strikes.
She’s in bed praying.
She’s screaming.
“Why God?
Why give me something only to take it away?”

It’s morning.
She can’t hear Him today.

Bitter and angry, she says:
“God, you like to tease me..
I finally felt free.
Free from my past..
I finally felt happy..”

“Me, me, me..
Is that all you think about?” He says.

It took a while for those words to soak in.
She began thinking..
“Things are supposed to be this way..”
She got excited, you could say.
“Oh, God. You have other plans for me don’t you?!”

“Big plans”
“Tell me.”
“Patience, child.
One day you will see.”

“When?”
“When the earthquake within you ends.
My dear, can’t you see?
Your soul is divided.”
Decide who to live for,
And your future will be clear more so…”
